The Canberra Archaeological Society (CAS) and the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology (ASHA) present Contemporary Archaeology: How archaeology is practiced today.
Presented by the Canberra Archaeological Society and the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology, this public symposium is part of the Canberra and Region Heritage Festival. 

Contemporary Archaeology will feature discussions around current archaeological practice, how archaeologists might now be employed, and a Q&A panel with all of the speakers. The symposium will explore the following themes for their contemporary relevance:
  • The forensic archaeology of war crimes 
  • Australian Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic archaeology 
  • Space archaeology 
  • Australian Indigenous archaeology
  • Repatriation of Indigenous remains from overseas
  • Careers in archaeology
